Plot
Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past
Tired of being bounced from one host family to another, he now lives in his car, eating corn on the cob and taking showers during study sessions.
Alone, he is haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
As darkness falls, he couldn’t be more different from his school’s confident and proud image.
Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher who is faced with his own struggles
He sees Nate’s hidden talent and need for attention and guidance where no other teacher sees him, and decides to help him.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of class and taken away in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only posts bail, but also agrees to welcome him into his home, despite the raised eyebrows he receives from the other teachers.
Stan is willing to do whatever it takes to help his struggling student
But the question is: can you really help someone if you are not willing to help yourself?
